It's almost time...

So given that it's beginning of August and I have 6 weekdays before I have to head back to school to prep, I am nervous! My classroom has all new furniture and shelves, lots of people donated a lot of awesome things to my room, but I will need to start lesson/centers planning, figuring out what I want to do for classroom management, how to assess my kids.....the list is endless. However, I am very very excited!

Sometimes the thought of me teaching kindergarten is still surreal. I have been in school since I have been in school for 22 years and now I have the job that I have been dreaming about since I was 5. I am entering the real world. AHH!

I got it!

I am happy to announce that I got a part-time Kindergarten teaching position at a Christian school! What a dream come true. Well, I wouldn't really say "I" got it, because it was the works of many people's prayers and advices, and, of course, the work of God.

Jeremiah 29:11
"For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the LORD, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. "

Spring Cleaning

So I was taking a break from all the reading and project madness for school and decided to look through my art supplies at home. Since I am at it, I might as well clean it up:).
my shoebox of paint and ribbons

my $5 ribbon collection, from Target, Fabricland, and Michaels (I forgot I recently bought a few more spools...)

My mini NEW paint collection from Michaels

Paint samples (great for cutting up) and square coloured pieces in my waffle box

Box of scrapbook paper

My Michaels and dollar store stamps:)

Blank cards, stickers, and FREE envelopes from Carlton Cards (you just have to ask)

All cleaned up:)
This is the start of my art supply collection, hoping one day I will have something like this....

Quotes on Education :)

As I am working on an assignment that requires me to look up quotes on education, I stumble upon the following. All so inspiring!

"Teaching is the profession that teachers all the other professions." -Unknown

"If you can read this, thank a teacher." -Unknown

"The more you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go." -Dr. Seuss

"Play is often talked about as if it were a relief from serious learning. But for children play is serious learning. Play is really the work of childhood." -Fred Rogers

"There is a brilliant child locked inside every student." -Marva Collins

"A teacher affects eternity; he can never tell where his influence stops." -Henry Brooks Adam

"A characteristic of a normal child is he doesn't act that way very often." -Unknown

Hope you are inspired:)
